Mission/Strategy/Values
The church should be the most irresistible place in the community. Through God's provision, we are creating relevant, irresistible environments at Providence Church. Our goal is to create experiences where the Holy Spirit is free to work in the hearts and lives of adults and children, and to which they, in turn, will be compelled to invite their friends and family members.
Mission
The mission of Providence is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our Strategy
We believe the best way to accomplish our mission is to create irresistible environments where people are encouraged and equipped to pursue intimacy with God, community with insiders and influence with outsiders.
Key to this is our foyer to kitchen strategy, in which people move from being guests who are welcome and invited in to being "family" in authentic community.
Foyer
A foyer is the place in your home that serves as the welcome area for guests and new friends. It is the first step, and it’s often your only chance to make your guests feel comfortable enough to return. That’s exactly how we’ve designed our entry environments at Providence. Our Sunday morning worship gatherings are “foyer” environments. We want our guests to come back, so we do everything with them in mind. This environment serves as the perfect place to introduce newcomers to the life of Providence Church. So come on in…
Living Room
Our primary living room environments are Group Link, which helps you get connected into a community group, and strategic service, which helps you get serving together with other people. Through these environments, you will begin to develop relationships with others in a smaller and more interactive environment.
Kitchen
The most popular room in your home is definitely the kitchen. It's where lasting friendships are made and nurtured. And that’s the kind of environment we are striving for in our community groups. Community groups are where people meet regularly to build into each other, and for bible study and prayer. They commit to accountability, friendship and care for each other. Community groups are a safe place to open your heart, share your life, and ask the tough questions. There are small group opportunities for both adults and children. Small groups are the place where the heart of what we're about happens at Providence Church. And we want to help you get there, as you move from foyer, to the living room, to the kitchen.
Values
Values define what’s important, who we are and how we operate. Here are the values that define us at Providence:
Biblical Authority - God has spoken to us through the Bible and we recognize it as the final authority for our lives.
Intimacy with God - God desires an intimate relationship with each of us.
Relevant Environments - Every environment should be designed to effectively connect with its target audience.
Relational Evangelism - God's message of forgiveness through Christ is most effectively conveyed within the context of personal relationships.
Authentic Community - Accountability, belonging, care, and spiritual growth happen best with relationally-connected believers.
Strategic Service - Our spiritual gifts have maximum impact when exercised in support of our strategy.
Intentional Apprenticing - We are responsible to pass along to others the knowledge, skills, and opportunities that have been entrusted to us.
